About Us
Marie Gabriel, the founder and president
of HCHF accepted Jesus Christ at a prayer meeting in Haiti when she was ten years old. At the age of 15, Marie had a dream about buying some land in Haiti, but she discounted the dream at that time. She left Haiti when she was 23 years old to move to Canada, and was married while living there.

At 26, Marie moved to the USA. One day she received a call from her sister in Haiti, who told her about some land that was for sale there. Marie initially said that she wasn’t interested in owning land in Haiti. Marie decided that she would purchase the land located in Lamothe, Haiti.
Three years later she traveled back to Haiti
to visit the land she had purchased. It was then that Marie recalled her childhood dream of owning land in Haiti.

While she surveyed her plot of land, she saw deeply impoverished children playing barefoot. Marie traveled back to America with growing desire in her heart to do something with her land that would help her people, especially the children. She felt the Holy Spirit telling her that before she could help them, the people of Haiti first needed Christ in their lives.
Marie began her mission by sending some of her own money to Haiti for food and supplies. Again, the Holy Spirit moved her to pray that the Lord would remove her shyness and teach her how to raise money for His people in Haiti. Marie single-handedly raised the money to build the church on her property, but she knew she would need to do more.
In 2005, the Lord led her to Harvest Community Church in Woonsocket, RI
where Marie met the other men and women who would help her form the HCHF organization: David DiFilippo, Jack Hurley, Teri Glynn, and Jessica Allen.
The first HCHF Mission Team
was formed after a year of prayer and fundraising. In August 2006 HCHF started the process of developing Marie’s land for the glory of God and the health and welfare of His children in Haiti.
